• Between 730-842, iconoclasm is a policy of the government.
• Destruction of the most important religious art: Icons.
  • Mostly of cool people like Jesus, Mary, and saints, etc.
• In 1730 (...?) Muslims just attacked Byzantine in East and Byzantine barely stayed alive.
• Since the Muslims had greater influence now, their prohibition of idolatry now became in effect.
